University of The Gambia
Who We Are
We are the law students of the University of The Gambia. We joined Africa in the Moot in 2021 in preparation for our first entrance to the 2022 iteration of the Willem C. Vis Moot. We are excited to show the international arbitration community what aspiring advocates from The Gambia have to offer!
Cherno S. Bah
Cherno S. Bah is a 3rd year law student in the University of The Gambia, Faculty of Law. He currently works with the Law Offices of Malick H.B. Jallow as a legal clerk and is currently serving as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Law Student Association. 2022/2023 will be his first time participating in the Willem C. Vis Moot Competition. Cherno is really excited to learn more about arbitration, to build connections, and to expand his experience in mooting. As an aspiring legal practitioner specialising in Human Rights and constitutional law, he strongly believes that mooting is one of the best and most effective ways that he can develop his advocacy skills.
Rosette Gomez
Rosette Gomez is a 2nd year law student at the University of The Gambia Faculty of Law. Rosette is a civil society activist and a fact-checker currently working as a researcher for Fact-Check Center, The Gambia. She has dreams of being a legal practitioner specialized in corporate and Human Rights Law. She has previously participated in Human Rights Moot Court competitions and she is a first-time participant in the Willem C. Vis Moot. Rosette is very excited for the journey to learn more about arbitration and to broaden her capacity in the area.
Isha Jasseh
Isha Jasseh is a final year law student at the University of The Gambia. She has career plans of being a lawyer specialized in international commercial law and international criminal law. As a first time participant in the Willem C Vis moot , Isha is enthusiastic about taking part in the competition.
Fatima Dabo
Fatima Dabo is a 2nd year law student at the University of The Gambia. I am currently a volunteer at The American Corner. Her aspiration is to become a corporate lawyer. Fatima has participated in a moot competition organised by University of The Gambia previously, but in 2022/2023 it will be her first time participating in the Willem C. Vis Moot competition. She looks forward to gaining new experience and meeting new people.
