Who We Are
We are the law students of the University of The Gambia. We joined Africa in the Moot in 2021 in preparation for our first entrance to the 2022 iteration of the Willem C. Vis Moot. We are excited to show the international arbitration community what aspiring advocates from The Gambia have to offer!

Awa A. Cham
Awa A. Cham is a young aspiring lawyer from The Gambia. She is a final year law student from the University of The Gambia and has participated in both National and International human rights and criminal Moot Competitions. Awa is of the view that arbitration law is highly needed in the Gambia as it is more efficient, quicker, and less expensive dispute resolution mechanism. As a first time participant in the Willem C. Vis Moot Competition, she is looking forward to meeting counterparts across the world in the Competition. Her vision is to have a society where matters are settled by Arbitration as opposed to Litigation.
Sulayman BJ Kongira
Sulayman is a 23 year old Gambian and a fourth Year law student at the University of The Gambia. He attended St Peter's Technical Junior and Senior School and has participated in several moot court competitions. He has career plans of being a legal practitioner specialized in Arbitration, Human Rights and Corporate Law.
Kawsu Bojang
Kawsu Bojang is an aspiring Lawyer from the Republic of the Gambia. Kawsu is currently in his final year at the University of the Gambia. Kawsu is a civil Society activist; he participated in the Human Rights Moot Court championship organized by the National Human Rights Commission into the Gambia. Kawsu also participated in the Mock Trial on tendering Evidence in Court. As a first time participant in the Willem C Vis Moot, Kawsu is enthusiastic about the Vis Moot Championship.
Mariama Farage
Mariama is a final year law student at the University of The Gambia. From a very young age she always knew she wanted to be a lawyer and be a voice for the voiceless. Her first ever attempt at moot saw her emerged as a finalist at the maiden edition of the Human Rights Moot competition organized by the National Human Rights commission of The Gambia. She is also currently the Chairperson of the Mock and Moot Society of the Federation of African Law Students. This is her maiden appearance in the highly acclaimed Vis Moot Competition. She looks forward in sharing a platform with peers across the globe.
Mr. Peter Adoh Che Esq. (On-The-Ground Coach)
Peter Adoh Che Esq is an organizer of the Maiden Williams C. Vis Moot Team from the University of The Gambia. He is the Founder of the African Center for Legal Research and Training, a Magistrate of the Judiciary of The Gambia and Lecturer Faculty of Law University. He looks forward to the success of the Gambia Team in the Arbitration Moot.
