Who We Are
The University of Pretoria Vis Moot team describes themselves as a group of diverse law students looking to bring their unique backgrounds and skills to develop unique solutions to complicated legal problems. They joined the Africa in the Moot initiative with their 2020/2021 Vis Moot team.
Keeghan Smith
Keeghan Smith is a law student in his penultimate year at the University of Pretoria. He has expressed how the moot has been a life changing competition. Not only has it opened him to the world of international arbitration but has also connected him to people across the globe and has allowed him to realize his full potential as a legal student.
Neha Maharaj
Neha is a 3rd year law student at the University of Pretoria. Mooting has been one of the most challenging yet interesting part of her studies. The Willem C Vis moot competition has allowed her to practice in international arbitration and learn more about the field which she would not have been aware of otherwise. The skills she has learnt through this competition have enhanced her ability and understanding of law.
Neo Lebajoa
Neo Lebajoa is a final year student of the University of Pretoria, South Africa. The Vis Moot court was an opportunity to gain valuable training in written and oral advocacy, Allowing for growth in a law career.
Kgomela Letsoalo
Kgomela Letsoalo is a final year LLB student at the University of Pretoria. He is very passionate about Law and was very excited to be part of the first team from the University of Pretoria to participate in the Willem C Vis Moot. He believes that the moot is a great platform for learning about resolving international commercial disputes through arbitration and the experience that he has gained from participating in the moot has been invaluable.
