Nicola van Tellingen
Hi, I am Nicola van Tellingen, an Aan Gray Orbis Foundation Candidate Fellow and a third year student at the University of Cape Town studying a BSocSci in Political Studies and Law. I have competed in various moot competitions since high school and most recently won the overall competition and best speaker at the University of the Western Cape First Year Moot in 2021. I’ve also been involved in the advocacy and electoral reform space for the past year as a member of the One South Africa Movement holding the position of Deputy National Youth Operations Coordinator.
Jered Shorkend
Hi there! I'm Jered Shorkend. I'm my penultimate year. In the Vis Moot 2022, I have focused on the substance of the sales contract and arguing for its validity and invalidity in different alternates to suit the various possible legal regimes. My primary area of legal interest is civil litigation and dispute resolution. My interests outside of law include History and emergency management.
Kudzaishe Makunga
My name is Kudzaishe Mukunga. I am entering into the final year of my undergraduate LLB degree. I have participated in a number of moot competitions which have focused on various subject matters, including immigration law and government SMME allocations to foreign nationals. During the written portion of the Vis Moot Competition 2022, I worked to examine the validity of the contract concluded by the parties, with a focus on the general principles of international contract law and the UNIDROIT principles. Although my interests primarily lie in Public Law, particularly Constitutional and Criminal Law, participation in the 2022 Moot has sparked interest in Contract law and Commercial Arbitration.
Olivia Hinckley
I am Olivia Hinckley, I am an Intermediate Post Grad LLB student and can never wear matching socks. It has been a privilege working with the Vis Moot team and an honor to represent UCT in the 2022 festival. It has been an absolute journey so far! My legal interest is Cyberlaw and the Entertainment industry. One day I plan to be a legal representative for the BBC.
