We are proud to organize the 2nd edition of our East Africa Vis Pre-Moot, with 10 competing teams from 7 African nations. The East Africa Pre-Moot is the largest in-person Pre-Moot in Sub-Saharan Africa for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The East Africa Pre-Moot comprises 2 days of intensive workshops, followed by 2 days of oral arguments, and exciting social events for all participants in between.

For many participating teams, this year is their respective university’s first year competing. For most teams, the East Africa Pre-Moot will be their first opportunity to test their skills against other teams, in person. We hope to offer all participating students, coaches and participants four exciting days with great academic opportunities that will offer students valuable skills for their competition in the Willem C. Vis Moot, as well as for their future careers. In addition, we hope that these four days will allow all the teams to get to know and learn from each other, and from the many wonderful practitioners that are joining the event as faculty and arbitrators.

We look forward to seeing our talented teams in action in the oral rounds and to providing an amazing learning experience and exposure to the arbitration community.
