Who We Are
Cavendish University was founded in 2008 in Kampala, Uganda. They joined the Africa in the Moot initiative for the 2022 Willem C. Vis Moot which represented their first time participating in the Moot.

Meet the Team
Ssekasamba Allan
Allan is a fourth year student at Cavendish University and a member of the Willem C. Vis Moot competition. He is a member of Cavendish’s very first Vis Moot team.
Mariam Imran Muhamed
My name is Mariam Imran Muhamed. I am a year two Law student at Cavendish University Uganda. I love to advocate for the environment and girl child in our society. I recently participated in the 29th Vis Moot Competition 2022 and am looking forward to applying the skills in the near future and promote a safe environment for commercial trade.
Phionah Nankunda
Phionah Nankunda is a law student at Cavendish University Uganda, she loves oral advocacy, argumentation and mooting. She participated in the 29th Willen C Vis Moot Court Competition 2022. Phionah is a social justice activist, a young political leader at District level in Uganda were she comes from, she believes in youth empowerment, very passionate about International Human Rights and a lover of Literature. For she has written a number of poems and short African stories.
Mirriam Lawoko
Mirriam Lawoko is student at Cavendish Law and also has a passion for music, public speaking, and social justice. She has participated in the Vis Moot and Nuremberg Moot and she continues to be active in the Moot Society. She is currently the Speaker of Rule of Law Club at Cavendish University Uganda, the Treasurer of the Network of Public Interest Lawyers Cavendish Chapter, and is a member of the Debate Society of Cavendish University Uganda. She hopes to attend Harvard Law after her LLB. After Law school she hopes to work for the International Criminal Court. She aspires to be the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
Aheebwa Rogers Musiime
Rogers is a 3rd year law student from Cavendish University Uganda. Rogers represented his entire team in the inaugural Africa in the Moot Pre-Moot in Nairobi, Kenya in February 2022. He recalls his experience highly educational and was happy to bring back what he learned to his fellow teammates in Kampala.
Fatou Jaiteh
I am Fatou Jaiteh, a 4th year Law Student. I have participated in the National Inter-University International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition where my team came in 2nd in the Written memorial component. I have also participated in the Nuremberg Moot Court Competition 2021, where my team was amongst those that advanced to the oral rounds from Africa. I also took part in the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition 2021, where my team qualified to the International rounds in Oxford. I am very much looking forward to my participation in the Willem C. Vis Moot Competition 2022.
